Scheduling

All appointments are conducted through a secure and confidential video conferencing system. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact Dr. Stier by email or telephone. If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, you must provide at least 24 hours notice. To learn more about appointment types and rates, see the Outpatient Services Agreement.

Payment Policy

Payment is processed at the time of service via credit card, debit, or HSA. Dr. Stier does not contract with insurance companies and would be considered “out of network” with insurance. All patients with out of network benefits are encouraged to submit billing statements to their insurance provider for reimbursement. Billing statements are accessible through the patient portal following each appointment.

Communication

Dr. Stier utilizes a HIPAA compliant electronic medical record (EMR) for scheduling, documentation, billing, and communication. This EMR provides a confidential patient portal for communication. If a refill is required between appointments, a refill request can be submitted through the patient portal. Please allow two business days to process your request. Do not use email to communicate confidential information.

Emergencies

Dr. Stier does not provide urgent, crisis, or emergency services. In the event of an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not use the patient portal or Dr. Stier’s phone or email for emergencies.

Once stabilized, contact Dr. Stier for further management.

Limitations of Telemedicine

Certain psychiatric symptoms and conditions require a higher level of care than can be provided through virtual means. If at any point Dr. Stier determines that she can no longer safely coordinate treatment, she will provide referrals to a higher level of care.

The Ryan Haight Act (federal law) prohibits the prescription of controlled substances (i.e. stimulants and benzodiazepines) via telemedicine. In compliance with this law, no controlled substances will be prescribed.
